Severina Vuckovic is a Croatian pop music star and actress who was born on April 21, 1972 in Split, Croatia and she simply goes by the name of Severina.
Her career started in 1989 and she is one of the most popular Croatian artists in the history of the country. She has won several festival awards and all her albums have been huge successes.
In 2004 notoriety was added to her fame when a home video was published on the internet which featured her and a wealthy married businessman. The extremely sexually graphic nature of the home-video and the fact that she was involved with a married man shocked the Croatian nation and permanently damaged her local public image and the fact that she had that previously espoused high moral standards and abstinence in many of her public appearances only added to the public's sense of shock.
Severina went on to sue the website that had released the tape but it was already too late because the home-video had already spread to numerous other sites on the web. The upside to all this is, is that as with Paris Hilton and many others the tape actually enhanced Sverina's global career and she became a household name to millions of people who had previously never heard of her.
