Kate Ritchie was born on August 14, 1978, in Goulburn which is in rural NSW Australia, and she has two younger sisters and a younger brother.
She became a household name at a very young age due to her playing the role of Sally Fletcher in 'Home and Away' for fifteen years. She first appeared in the serial at age seven allowing viewers to watch her grow up.
Whilst working on 'Home & Away', Kate studied via an education program called 'Pathways' which enabled her to study for the H.S.C. exam for three years and she says, "It was hard to combine both school and working on 'Home and Away' but it was something I felt I had to do for my own self worth. I am glad I persevered as it allows me to keep my options open for life after 'Home & Away'. I was so relieved when it was all over and I could finally use all of my energy on Home & Away".
Kate, Ray Meagher (Alf) and Norman Coburn (Fisher) are all in the Guinness Book of Records for being the longest serving actors on an Australian drama serial.
