Eve is an actress and a rapper and the sales of her first three albums are approaching the five million copies mark in the U.S. alone.
She’s been awarded a Grammy and in 2003 she became the star of her own TV show, ‘Eve’ which ran for 3 seasons and she also has her own clothing line called ‘Fetish’.
During her early years she sang in choirs and even had her own all female singing group ‘Dope Girl Posse’ (D.G.P.) and the group covered songs from 'En Vogue' and 'Color Me Badd'.
After her group's manager saw the rap group 'ABC', he recommended that the group stick to rap and Eve took his advice.
She also worked for a while as a stripper but returned to hip-hop due to the encouragement of rap superstar Ma$e. She recorded "Eve of Destruction", which appeared on the soundtrack of ‘Bulworth’ in 1998.
Her label, 'Aftermath Records' got into financial trouble though and Eve was soon lacking a record contract.
She was however a friend of DMX and participated on a remix of his hit single ‘Ruff Ryders Anthem’ from his multi-platinum selling debut album, ‘It's Dark’ and ‘Hell is Hot’.
Her 1999 debut, 'Let There Be Eve...Ruff Ryders' First Lady', was a huge success and it became only the second hip-hop album by a woman to enter the Billboard 200 at #1.
Eve appeared in the movies, 'XXX' with Vin Diesel, both ‘Barbershop’ and ‘Barbershop 2’’ with Ice Cube, ‘The Cookout’ with Queen Latifah and Meagan Good, and ‘The Woodsman’ with Kevin Bacon.
Hers is the voice of Major Jones in the video game XIII and the voice of one of the villains on ‘Spiderman’ cartoon on MTV.
Eve was once romantically involved with Teodorín Nguema Obiang who is the son and heir of an Equatorial Guinean dictator!
In 2003 after a nude photo that appeared to be Eve with another woman was leaked onto the Internet Eve said, "I used to strip, so it could be me or it could not be me".
